About
Hi! I'm Nycole Holwick. Jewelry has always been a passion of mine. I have been making it for years and always hoped to sell my work someday. A marriage and 3 kids later, time became limited. When our second son was 5 months old, he was diagnosed with a very complicated form of Epilepsy called Infantile Spasms. There are different scenarios, but if seizures do not respond to treatment, the brain stops developing and the child dies too young. Fortunately for us, treatment worked miraculously. Our doctors did not have answers to why. We also watched close friends deal with similar hardship; pediatric cancer. When your child is diagnosed with a rare illness the feeling is beyond stressful and makes you feel hopeless.
Helping Jewels is my way to raise some awareness and to help children fighting rare diseases in two of the top hospitals in Southern California that bring hope to so many families. Ten percent of the proceeds are divided between Mattel Children's Hospital UCLA (where our son was cured) and Children's Hospital Los Angeles.
When making my jewelry I always think of current trends, quality materials, and uniqueness. My mission is to make limited quantity so that my clients are getting special, boutique quality jewelry. For each new piece that I launch only a handful of people will own each design. Selling my jewelry is a dream come true, and combining it with a cause that I love makes it even better! All the jewelry is handmade and designed by me with love in beautiful Southern California.
